The KynSHOT RB5004 “Shorty” Recoil Buffer is designed for AR-10 carbines with a collapsible stock and an AR-15 length (7.0") buffer tube which is common on many AR-10 applications. The RB5004 reduces felt recoil 20-30%, while largely eliminating muzzle flip. The improvement in weapon accuracy – specifically second and third shot accuracy – is even more noticeable as shooters report that their time to reacquire a target decreases, and in many cases never leaves their scope sights. The KynSHOT RB5000L Hydraulic Recoil Buffer is optimized for use with light loads, including subsonic ammunition and .300 BLK. The RB5000L has seen heavy use with civilian competition shooters, law enforcement personnel, and the United Sates Armed Forces. This buffer has patented damping technology to absorb the shock of impact from the bolt carrier’s rearward motion and to prevent bolt bounce as a new cartridge is chambered. This model is made lighter and requires less force to cycle than the standard AR-15 KynSHOT Buffer. This is intended for soft cycling or under gassed guns that will not lock back on the last round with the standard carbine hydraulic buffer or heavier buffers. .300 BLK guns running exclusively supersonic ammo may be fine with a standard hydraulic buffer if the bolt cycles firmly and has proper ejection placement.

This was our first AR buffer spring solution that we were tasked to design back in 2006 for a Force Modernization Team to specifically address spring-related M4 carbine reliability function issues for operating challenges in the Eastern Asia Theatre. The design loads of the Red spring are approximately 25% greater than the White spring for one of the considered Load Constants in the spring design. Refer to provided tuning procedure reference documents prior to calling for recommendations for use. The Red spring is commonly used in 9mm, 6.8 SPC, 6.5 Grendel, .450 BM, .450 SOCOM, .500 Beowulf, and Colt LE6920’s specimen carbines, but certain specimen guns can deviate from the norm depending upon port values and the power factor of your chosen ammunition loads. Reduced Power Buffer Spring. We collaborated with two prominent commercial ammunition manufacturers and two prominent gunsmiths to arrive at the design for the Yellow spring. It’s approximately 20% lighter than the White spring, and was the consensus choice out of 4 different evaluation samples provided to all parties. They all added in their final evaluations that if a particular gun needed a lighter spring, that the gas port should be enlarged for overall reliability. The Yellow spring is also appropriate for with low power SRTA training or SIMS Rounds for training operations. Color coded YELLOW.

Our KynSHOT buffer weight, that was designed in cooperartion with Blitzkrieg Components, LLC., can be used with our PCC hydraulic buffers, and in certain cases, our AR hydraulic buffers to add mass in front of the buffer. The Spacer Weight also adds .75" in length to the buffer system, and adds 2.5 ounces of weight, which is designed for a close fit buffer tube while preventing tilting of the buffer during cycling. The weight has several functions: the additional mass further delays initial bolt movement and slows the bolt velocity, it helps to keep the buffer aligned in the buffer tube, and its additional length can be used to make a short stroke system if desired.
